Army MARS will help you to learn proven communications procedures, to complete training in many facets of emergency operations, and to operate a highly effective multi-mode communications center: Your own!

     You will learn to operate your station effectively in a variety of propagation conditions. You will have the opportunity to use single-sideband, digital "sound card" modes, and PACTOR error-free digital communications. You will become familiar with the new technology of the MARS Winlink Gateway System, whereby messages can be delivered across the globe reliably via a combination of radio and the Internet.

     You will be encouraged to develop and maintain ties with your local Emergency Managers, as well as your local Amateur Radio communications providers such as ARES and SATERN.

     If you have the time and the desire to be an active participant in an up-to-date emergency communications service, Army MARS is for you. We give our members a professional setting to improve their radio operating skills.
